In early 2014, I worked as the Lead UX Designer for the Persado Toolbox, which integrates with the Sales Force Marketing Cloud. The app launched in the fall of 2014. Learn more about the project, view the prototype, or view the app live.
I am an academically trained human factors engineer and anthropologist focusing on human computer interaction (HCI) and user experience (UX) research and design. I have my B.A. in anthropology from UCLA and M.S. in human factors and systems engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. My writing has been published in a number of journals, magazines, and books, including a behavioral psychology textbook for Oxford University Press. I have worked with organizations, such as: Walmart, Frontier Communications, GreenDot Bank, and The Veteran's Administration (VA). I was trained in HTML, CSS, and front-end web development in the early 2000s, and I have worked full or part time in a tech related capacity since then. Currently, I teach User Experience Design Immersive Courses with General Assembly in Seattle and design my own products. I am not currently accepting new clients, but please reach out to my past students if you are looking for a quality UX designer.
I value good manners, kindness, and respect. I believe in and use positive psychology. In terms of design and visual arts, I love the International Typographic Style (Swiss Style), Bauhaus, Ulm Style (HFG or Hochschule für Gestaltung Ulm), Dada, Shinzi Katoh, Frederick Law Olmsted, Marc Chagall, Alexander Calder, Wassily Kandinsky, and Henri Matisse (especially his Jazz series).
