You Love Design

We Love Helping Designers

Design is an important part of who you are - personally and professionally. You feel lucky that you can rely on your creativity and ingenuity to earn a living. But, some days, loving design is not enough. You get tired, uninspired, and bob up and down in the creative doldrums. Caffeine doesn't really help - nor do cookies. It's as if your creativity is iron deficient, but do not despair. Design Thinking Boutique is very much like a juicy filet. Our products, classes and consulting help remind you why you fell in love with design in the first place and give you the inspiration, information, and motivation to transform ideas into reality on a regular basis.

Creative Problem Solving Techniques

Design Thinking is a formal method for creative yet practical problem solving and solution generation. The concept of design as a way of thinking about the world, rather than simply of way of making things, has existed since the mid-1960s. Since then, a number of Design Thinking models have cropped up. Although there are small differences between each model, all models have in common the following: research, working with end users, empathy, open-mindedness, optimism, exploration of multiple possible solutions, prototyping and testing, and constant ideation and iteration. Design as a profession, trade, and or craft can take a lifetime to master, but anyone with a willingness to try Design Thinking can very quickly use and benefit from this method.

Ashley designed this workshop with the intention of bringing fun, joy, laughter, and honesty back into the design process. She believes that all the solutions to the world's problems are locked in our brains, and Design Thinking is a skeleton key that can unlock them. She wants to give you a copy of that key, because she can't save the world by herself. So, please enjoy this workshop, and tell us a bit about yourself in the form below the deck. Cheers!

Design Thinking Exercises For Inspiration & Overcoming Creative Blocks

Our First Product is In Development

Aha Moment Cards are Design Thinking exercises delivered to your inbox every Monday beginning Monday, May 4th, 2015. They are made by design professionals for design professionals to get inspiration and break through creative blocks. Our exercises are created to be office-friendly, meaning you can be wearing heels or sitting in a cubicle and not worry that your coworkers will think what you are doing is strange.

AHA MOMENT CARDS are on their way

Creative work is supposed to be fun, but getting stuck is not. Sadly, getting stuck happens frequently for those who rely upon their creativity and ingenuity to do their work. We are designing Aha Moment Cards to unstick us, inspire us, and add the fun back into our work quickly, easily, and enjoyably. They are particularly well suited for design professionals, but anyone can benefit from using them.

Help Us Make the AHA MOMENT CARDS

We have built the Creativity Questionnaire to help us gather data for our forthcoming product, Aha Moment Cards. By filling out the Creativity Questionnaire, you will be helping fellow designers practice human-centered design so that what is made actually works for the end user. We will keep respondents in the loop as we get closer to launch. Thank you for your time and support!
